There's a lot of confusion out there on how to sew in a gore. I've seen countless tutorials on how to go about doing it, and they all confused the living heck out of me. Now, I'm a novice seamstress, having only been doing this a couple of years at this point. For a long time, I would sew up to about an inch from the top of the gore, then sew the rest by hand. The result was... unpleasant, but better than if I tried to sew it by machine. I figured I wasn't good enough to do it.
Then I got stuck in a car for 18 hours driving to St. Louis, MO, and I hand sewed an entire dress. Because I was bored. And I finally understood how to do the gores. I have no idea if my method is "right" or not, but it works, and it works EVERY time, no puckers. So... if you want to sew gores, and you can't figure out the other tutorials, here's one that might help.
